Polish Festival in Himeji

On October 20, the Polish Festival in Himeji was held, organized by the Japan-Poland Cultural Exchange Association and the Honorary Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Kobe. Radosław Tyszkiewicz, President of the Foundation, met with Hideyasu Kiyomoto, Mayor of Himeji, and discussed opportunities for cooperation and the Foundation’s future involvement in projects implemented in the Kansai region. Last year, Mayor Kiyomoto paid a visit to Krakow, and in 2024, a partnership and cooperation agreement was signed between Himeji Castle in Japan and the Royal Castle at Wawel. The artistic program of this year’s Festival featured performances by Polish and Japanese artists, including students from Himeji International School and the Nazarene Sisters High School in Warsaw. During the festival, visitors could taste delicacies of Polish cuisine and purchase Polish products, such as Polish ceramics from Bolesławiec, cosmetics, and artistic handicrafts. The Festival, thanks to the commitment of the organizers, including the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Kobe, Masahiko Surugi, and the Polish community in Kansai, enjoyed great interest!
