Photograph from Hokkaido Among the Best Images of the Year

Organized by the World Photography Organisation, the Sony World Photography Awards is one of the largest and most important events in the world of photography. In the Open 2026 edition, winners and finalists were awarded in 10 categories, recognizing the best single photographs of the past year. A record 430,000 entries from over 200 countries were submitted to the competition, confirming its global scale. We are delighted to announce that among the finalists is a photographer from Poland, Tomek Kozłowski, whom we supported during his stay in Japan. His photograph from Hokkaido, Japan, was recognized and selected as one of the 15 best images of 2026 in the Lifestyle category. The Poland-Japan Foundation provided media patronage for his photographic and social project “InSight FarEast,” the first part of which (March–May 2025) took place in Japan. Heartfelt congratulations!
